Our 100% bamboo muslin swaddle blankets make a really good, practical purchase. Not only are they beautiful, and soft and HUGE - they have so many uses, well beyond swaddling.
Here’s a round up of my favourites.
Whether you’re feeding at home, or out and about, you might want a little privacy. Our muslin swaddle blankets are enormous (120cm by 120cm) giving you plenty to cover up with. One of the big advantages of being 100% bamboo is that you, or your baby, won’t overheat under it!
2. Cot sheet
If you want to protect your mattress (at home or in the bassinet), car seat, or just provide your baby with something soft and familiar to lie on, this will do the trick. My top tip is to alternate sleeping with one, then using it in your baby’s bed, as it will retain your scent and help comfort them.
3. Pram blanket
Little legs getting a bit chilly? Just pop a blanket on. Bamboo is also UV resistant - so they’ll do a great job on sunny days too - without making your baby too hot.
4. Burp cloth
They look pretty stylish slung over your shoulder - and will keep your outfit mess-free too! (Especially useful if, like me, you forgot you had a toddler and decided to wear white!)
5. Make-shift shade
Whether your baby needs a bit less stimulation to take a nap, or you want to keep the sun off on a sunny day, our blankets are light and breathable. I’m also reliably informed they do the job during (really light!) rain showers!
6. Comfort blanket
As soft as cashmere, they can feel so lovely and reassuring to little ones.
7. Bed sheet
On those nights when it’s too hot for a blanket or duvet, these provide a lovely, light cover. They’re also tricky to kick off - being so large.
8. Playmat / changing mat / picnic blanket
If you need somewhere clean to lay your baby down, having a muslin stashed in your bag comes in very handy!
9. Emergency towel / sarong
Got to the swimming pool and forgot baby’s (or more likely your own!) towel? Not a problem! Our muslin swaddle blankets are both huge and absorbant. Phew!
Now that both my children are too old to be swaddled (and they even make a lot less mess than they used to!) this is by far their top use!
And there are even more...
Do you have any to add? I’d love to hear them, if so.
