Gift ideas for a new Mum (with FREE printable coupons)

With Mother’s Day just under a week away, we thought we’d round up some great gift ideas for a new Mum.  Most of us buy for the baby, but Mums need a treat too.  Here are some ideas other than the usual flowers and toiletries (that, let’s face it, she might be too busy to use!)  These ideas are great at any time of the year, are all under £30 and some are even free!

1. Bring her some food (£0 - £20)

A new Mum has a lot on her plate (excuse the pun!)  Why not treat her to a home-cooked meal or two?  If cooking’s not your thing, or you’re not sure what she’d like (although I’m sure anything would be appreciated!) how about a Cook voucher?

2. A coupon book (£0)

Why not give her vouchers for things she’ll really appreciate - like washing up, tidying, hoovering, sitting with baby while you shower, or sleep - or anything else you can think of.

You can buy sets of these online, or print off our free version.  There are even a few blank ones for you to fill in yourself!

3. A DVD box set (£0 - £20)

This could be just the thing to encourage a new Mum to spend some time sitting down and recuperating - hopefully why someone else cleans her home and makes her food!  Amazon have a great selection - or perhaps pay for a month of Netflix?

4. Pay for a few hours of cleaning (or roll your sleeves up and do it yourself!) (£0-£30)

Whether it’s cleaning, washing, or ironing, any help you can give would be really appreciated.  Let Mum put her feet up for a while!

5. Tiny Chipmunk 100% bamboo muslin swaddle blankets (£29.99)

Our 100% bamboo muslin swaddles are huge, unisex and have so many uses beyond swaddling.  You can also get a FREE swaddling guide here, with six methods to try.

6. Vouchers for a mum and baby class (£0 - £30)

One of the (many) things that can be hard for a new Mum is feeling lonely and isolated. Getting out of the house can help with cabin fever and meeting new friends.  Netmums have a list of classes in your area and many offer gift vouchers.

7. Teething jewellery (£9.95 - £17.95)

Often new mums put jewellery away for fear of it being grabbed or chewed - so why not treat them to something designed exactly for that purpose!  Lara and Ollie have some gorgeous necklaces and bangles.
